Our Bushcraft parties have been designed to provide a completely unique experience for children aged 8 years and over that combines having loads of fun in the natural environment of the woods whilst learning some of the bushcraft skills that our ancestors would have used to survive.
Bushcraft encompasses a whole range of skills so there are a number of activities that you can choose from, they include:
Fire lighting using natural and man made tinders and techniques - followed by toasting marshmallows on your very own fire.
Natural Shelter/ Den Building - a brilliant team working activity
Natural Navigation - find North and South and use this information to get rescued
Natural cordage - use plant fibres to make a usable product
Making your own bread and cooking it on the fire
Woodland name tags - cut your own name tag and turn it into a decorative necklace
Knife and saw safety and cutting techniques (for older groups)
Archery on our woodland range
Our parties last 3.5 hours and consist of a combination of the above activities. This is followed by time to sit around the fire, have a drink of squash, enjoy the woods and cook and eat some food if required. The party will conclude with a group photo. If you have any of your own ideas or requests, we are always happy to accommodate you as best as we can.
We can run woodland parties any day of the week and they generally start at either 9.00am or 1:30pm, we can also offer after school parties as dictated by daylight hours.

Matt was an excellent instructor who led the group well throughout the day with consideration to the pace of the learning and what we actually did. He is a very personable sort of guy who quickly established a warm rapport with us and without doubt was extremely knowledgable about his subject which he taught with confidence and passion. He even had to contend with a biblical style downpour right in the middle of the day! He took it all in his stride and continued to motivate and interest us with a wide scope of topics that I had given him for the group to get stuck into. I will definitely recommend him to others and will try and organise another day with him later in the year.
