Expedition and Travel Preparation Weekend
This is a brand new course for 2020 that has been designed to help those planning overseas travel or expeditions to understand all the different components of designing, planning and executing a trip, whilst identifying the potential dangers and being prepared for emergency situations.
This course is perfect for everyone who enjoys travel or adventures, from solo gap year travelers or couples through to large group expeditions.
The is a Level 3 NCFE CQ ACCREDITED course. which means the content has been externally assessed and verified and you will receive certification from the NCFE.

Venue: Tickenham, Bristol
Dates: NO CURRENT DATES
Times: 7pm on the Friday till midday on the Sunday
Ages: All ages above 14 years welcome (under 18's must be accompanied by an adult)
Cost: £200 per person or £50 deposit and £150 balance
Accommodation: Own sleeping system (tent, basha, hammock) on the Friday night and in your own natural shelter on the Saturday night.

1900 - Meet and greet, safety brief
1915 - Walk to camp
1930 - Cutting tool safety and tarp demo - learners to set up own
2030 - Personal equipment and day sacks
2130 - Finish for evening and learners to finish setting up sleeping systems and prepare own food
Saturday
0700 - Wake-up call
0715 - Prepare breakfast – damper bread
0800 - Pre-expedition Preparation
0915 - Risk management
1000 - Basic first aid
1130 - Navigation and map reading
1300 - Game preparation – Fish or pigeon
1400 - Lunch
1430 - Shelter craft
1600 - Fire craft
1745 - Water sourcing
1845 - Prepare own dinner
1915 - Traps and snares – incorporating cutting techniques
2045 - Finish for the day
Sunday
0800 - Breakfast - damper bread
0900 - Dealing with adversity and uncertainty
0930 - Foraging
1100 - Leave no trace and personal reflection
1130 - Pack down camp and walk to car park
1200 - Closing brief and course departs
This is a practical 'hands on' course, all the subjects will be expertly explained and demonstrated after which participants will have a chance to have a go at everything.
Breakfasts and lunch on the Saturday are included.
